If you are not familiar with eComm you should click on Europe eComm to find out more about them.It is described on the eComm website as:

The worlds’ leading-edge communications event. It’s designed to showcase and accelerate both technology and business model innovation; and to explore the latest opportunities.

At eComm one of the more interesting demos was one called: Google Wave + Skype + Asterisk + Ibook. Watch this very intriguing video of the demo

On the Skype Journal they describe the “under of the covers” information about this demo as such:

Jason Goecke said “it is a Google Wave Gadget with his PhoneFromHere.com IAX2 Java softphone as the client. Then, the IAX2 Java phone connects to Asterisk with Skype for Asterisk installed. Then, there is a server-side element, Ibook, that is breaking apart utterances into individual files. So that as each person speaks, it captures it into its own file. Then, as that happens, a text frame is sent from Asterisk to the softphone with the file details. The gadget then uses some Javascript to embed a link. IAX2 supports text frames.”

This demo is very cool on a lot of levels. One, it is great to see Skype adding another telephony option to Google Wave. Second, it is nice to see the level of collaboration that went on here between these four technologies. Lastly, this is such a cool application! Having each piece of the conversation saved like that would be great for many businesses, the least of which being the legal industry and the media (journalists) industry.

What other industry do you think this would benefit? What 2 or 3 applications would you like to see collaborate on a Google Wave robot or gadget?
