The Ottawa (Google) Wave Camp (Hack-a-thon) was held yesterday at The Code Factory in downtown Ottawa. Attendance for the event was great, the event sold out approximately 2 weeks after being announced.
The highlight agenda items for the event was:
- Step-by-step (Implementing a Google Wave gadget, ‘Hello World’ example)
- Google Wave Federation Server – Implementing your own client
- Implementing a Google Wave Gadget using Java, Eclipse IDE, Google GWT, GWT Designer and deploying the gadget in the ‘cloud’ – Google AppEngine
Below is the presentation given by Ian Gough and J.P. Fiset of Bits by the
Pound on how to implement a Google Wave Gadget.
Also, Rodrigo Geve’s created some slides to explain Google Wave Gadget Development:
The attendees were quite engaged the entire day and had a lot of fun playing around with building Google Wave gadgets.

We look forward to expanding our group, our Hack-a-thon format and our agenda for the next time. Maybe we will see you there.
