In my previous post Top 10 Uses for Google Wave….Right Now! I talked about ways that you can use Google Wave™ right now without the fancy extensions being promised or the upgrades that we all hope will be forthcoming.
Since posting that I came across a site that I think is a great, great use of Google Wave™…right now! The site is called WaveRecipes.com. Shirlene, the owner and author of WaveRecipes.com describes here site as follows:
WaveRecipes.com is a directory of recipes that can be found on Google Wave. Click on the “Jump Button” to quickly get to each Wave Recipe. You will find the recipe there, as well as other people’s comments, questions, pictures, and videos. Add yourself to the Wave if you want to comment or if you just want to follow it to see what people say.
Why WaveRecipes.com? This website/blog makes a simple directory of all the available Wave Recipes. It’s easy on the eyes and easier to search through than swimming through Google’s gigantic pool of public waves.
The site is great and the Waves on the different recipes are excellent. You get instant (if they are online) feedback from folks that have used the recipe regarding substitutions, quantity changes, etc or you can just leave a comment about your experience with the recipe.
Recipes that I have seen on the sight (that have a Google Wave™ link) are:
- Leftover Turkey Pockets
- Chicken Italiano Skillet
- Basic Fried Rice
- Garlic Mashed Potatoes
- Cider-Glazed Turkey
- Good Old Fashion Pancakes
- Moist Pumpkin Bars
This is such a great idea and Shirlene has done a great job with the site and with the Waves. Please give it a look I am sure you find it worth your while. Also, while you’re there click on a ad link. The site and idea deserves some support. If you need some ideas on a recipe make sure you give one a try and then share your comments on Google Wave™.
Yet, another use….right now! This site makes me thinks of other great uses….right now. Like a movie site that linked the reviews to a Wave, or any product review site, or and app review site. Comments are fine…but not nearly as interactive as Wave can be. I really like her idea of the blog (or site) offering the nice place that is easy on the eyes and easy to find data. I think this is a great way to use Google Wave™…right now!
Share your comments below on WaveRecipes.com and your thoughts about other ways Google Wave™ can be used…right now.
